What Are Varifocal (Progressive) Lenses?
"Varifocal" and "progressive" are two names for the same type of lens. A varifocal lens corrects your vision at every distance in a single lens, with a smooth, gradual change in power and no visible line — unlike bifocals, which have two separate zones and a visible line.
Distance vision
